They do not work together AT ALL! I guess I have yet to master the whole online fabric buying. And I actually don't really like any of the fabrics in real life :( Looks like I will need to make my way to the fabric store and search there. Thank goodness I only spent $15 on all the swatches instead of being impulsive and ordering fabric by the yard!
Online Fabric Order Fail:
I do like the grey and tan geometric print on the bottom right, the tan lattice print right above it, but that's about it :) *Note below the ivory/tan ikat fabric hasn't arrived... I think (hope) that one will be good.
Here is my design plan for the living room (which I'll need to revise with different fabrics, but the color scheme is right on):
- I'd like to re-purpose an old MCM dresser as the media console for added storage. I've found a few at a nearby used furniture store, but I think I may do an Ikea hack so when I build it I can make changes to accommodate the cable box and other media.
- We desperately need a new couch, before that we'll need to break our dog, Ramona's habit of lounging there. The couch above is from Rooms to Go. It is a sleeper sofa so we can accommodate guests and the chaise is movable to the right or left side (you just move the ottoman and cushion). The pillows that come with the couch will have to be changed or recovered.
- We already have a brown leather recliner that we got from my father-in-law when we moved in. It was brand new. Major score!
- The rug is Pottery Barn. I'm thinking the 8'x8' is the best size for our space and would be versatile if we ever moved.
- My Julio lamp was featured on my last post. He really would look great anywhere :)
- The MCM accent tables are being worked on this weekend... yay!
- And we really should frame at least 1 of our French Quarter Fest posters. We have so many amazing ones so it's hard to choose, but the one I featured above is very meaningful to hubby.
Happy Friday everyone! Here's to a productive weekend :)
